Synopsis: Top Gun Maverick 2022 More than thirty years after graduating from TOPGUN, United States Navy Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is a test pilot. Although he has won many awards, his repeated defiance has kept him from rising through the ranks. His friend and former rival TOPGUN Admiral Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, commander of the US Pacific Fleet, often protects Maverick from being punished. Rear Admiral Chester “Hammer” Cain cancels Maverick’s “Darkstar” scramjet program to fund drones. Before Cain could officially do so, Maverick set out a new flight plan to be driven at high hypersonic speed, achieving the program’s goals. The prototype is destroyed, however, when Maverick pushes past Mach 10. Iceman again saves Maverick’s career by dispatching him to NAS North Island for his next assignment, but Hammer warns Maverick that the era of manned fighter aircraft is coming to an end.
