Synopsis: The Tiger Rising 2022 When 12 year old Rob Horton finds a tiger locked up in the woods near his home, his imagination runs wild and life begins to change in the most unexpected ways. With the help of a wise and mysterious servant, Willie May, and a stubborn new girl at school, he must navigate through childhood memories, heartache, and amazing adventures.
The Tiger Rising is the most difficult type of children’s film to make, the kind that deals with the grief of losing a parent. 12-year-old Rob Horton (Christian Convery) struggles to cope with the loss of his mother to cancer, while also having trouble adjusting to a new school after he and his father Robert Horton Sr. (Sam Trammell) packed up and moved to Florida. Now, people might be confused and assume the story is set in Kentucky given its part of the name of the motel they live in, but it turns out to be just a whimsical game of cartoon setting played by Dennis Quaid. Beauchamp (Quaid) also happens to have a tiger locked up off the beaten track and into the surrounding woods, which Robert meets one day, deciding to visit and feed him in exchange for befriending.
The other kids are bullies for no reason (in the most unconvincing way), the uneducated principal thinks Rob’s foot rash is contagious, so he sends him home, and there are communication problems at home. Fortunately, there were two sources of friendship for Robert. One is another freshman named Sistine Bailey (played by Madalen Mills), and the other is motel housekeeper Willie (Queen Latifah who has never looked more disinterested and tired of making jokes).
