Synopsis: The Tale of King Crab 2022 Some old hunters reminisce about the local tale of Luciano. Luciano lives as a drunk wandering in a remote village in the region called Tuscia. An act of spite took place between him and the territory prince on the right of the path through the ancient gate. Fueled by lust and jealousy, this act results in terrible vices. Now a hapless criminal, Luciano is exiled to distant Tierra del Fuego where, with the help of a ruthless gold digger, he searches for a mythical treasure trove, paving the way to redemption. However, in this barren land, only greed and madness can prevail. The film marks the debut of the narrative feature of Alessio Rigo de Righi and Matteo Zoppis’ documentary. Indeed, the opening moments, which are set in contemporary Tuscia, feel like a documentary as we watch a group of elderly men as they meet at an inn for dinner and swap stories, ultimately choosing the one that should have taken place in the nearby town of Vejano at the start. 20th century. The story is about Luciano (Gabriel Silli), a homeless man with a drinking problem who returns to the city, where his father is the local doctor, after a long absence. Almost immediately upon his return, he attracts unwanted attention by destroying the gates that the local prince (Enzo Cucchi) had closed and then adds to his troubles by falling in love with Emma (Maria Alexandra Lungu), the daughter of a local farmer (Severino Sperandio), who angry at the notion that such a man dared to assume anything to do with him. Worse, the prince had designs on Emma too. Tensions continue to rise until Luciano finally explodes in a reckless act that proves to have tragic consequences and forces him into exile.
