Synopsis: Operation Mincemeat 2022 In 1943, Great Britain is deeply rooted in World War II. Lieutenant Commander Ewen Montagu, a Jewish lawyer, remains in England while his wife, Iris, and children travel to the United States. Montagu took a hiatus from practicing law when he was appointed to the Committee of the Twenty. His loyal secretary, Hester Leggett, came with him. Winston Churchill had promised the United States that the Allies would invade Sicily by July of that year to push north into Europe. However, Sicily was considered a clear and defensible target by the Wehrmacht. Admiral Godfrey informed the Committee of the Twenty that Britain had to trick Nazi Germany into believing the Allies would invade Greece . Charles Cholmondeley proposed an operation from Trout Memo, which would require corpses bearing false secrets and being washed ashore. Despite Godfrey’s doubts, he gave Montagu and Cholmondeley permission to plan an operation with Lieutenant Commander Ian Fleming.
